Questions & Answers Application updates Q: I have reported a problem with your application a long time ago, but no update have been released yet. A: First of all, we appreciate all the users providing us with feedback and feature requests. Unfortunately, products published on the Android Market are not the main focus of PSA development activities. So, usually we try to release fixes for critical bugs as soon as possible, but major updates with new functionality can be delayed. Internationalization Q: Is it possible to translate your application into my native language? A: We agree - it will be great to have our application translated into different languages, allowing more people to use it. But unfortunately, we are not able to translate it into all desired languages by ourselves. We plan to make it possible for our users to participate in the translation process. Watch for updates! Supported media Q: A friend of mine shows me Stream Media Player playing very interesting content on his phone, but after I installed your application on my phone, I was unable to playback the same link. What's wrong? A: First of all, our application is using media codecs installed on the phone, so if some audio / video format is unsupported on some phone, Stream Media Player will not be able to play it. In order to avoid licensing problems, a limited number of codecs is included into Android core (you can look at this list). Same time, each particular manufacturer can license additional codecs (like WMA / WMV) for its phone. As a result, some phones can play media files encoded with "optional" codecs, while others can't. Q: I tried to playback several links coming with your application, but got only error messages. So, didn't you even test this application with bundled links? A: Please see the answer above regarding different media codecs issue. Currently we have no function to check content valid for each particular phone, but we are planning to implement it in the nearest future. Watch for updates! Links Q: I'm not able to playback the link I liked on my phone. I checked it on my PC, and also got an error. It looks like this stream is no more available. Why have you cancelled it? A: We are developing player application only, and we are not providing any streaming services. All links in Stream Media Player were found somewhere on the Internet and submitted by different users. Such sources can appear, disappear, reappear regardless of what we or you want. Q: There are so many streams in the Internet. Why are you providing only small number of links? A: The links we are providing were shared by other users. Want them to be much-much more? Share interesting links you found! Q: I saw your application on my child's phone. Is it safe? Are you checking links provided to avoid any violence or sexual content? A: We are verifying the links shared by different users, but we can't guarantee all inappropriate content to be filtered out, as we do not perform streaming of video. All links in Stream Media Player were found somewhere on the Internet and such sources can change the content regardless of our will. Note also, the functionality of our application is not limited to the list of provided links, user can add any link manually. Android Market Q: I have paid for Stream Media Player Pro, but I'm not satisfied. I want my money back! A: All financial transactions are performed by Google services, and we have no access to any details. So, please contact Android Market for money back option. Note: if you have bought SMP Pro elsewhere, please report us details - currently we are distributing our Android applications only via Android Market. Q: I'm not able to install / update Stream Media Player from Android Market. The process is hanging or is returning strange message - "Installation error Unknown reason". A: This is a well-known issue with Android Market, not related to our application. Try to follow different hints from this forum. What's new?

PSA is going to continue the work on the Stream Media Player in future, basing on feedback from the application users.
