 Mobile Bar-code Reader
The Bar-code Reader project included development of mobile applications on Android and BlackBerry platforms which are capable of capturing a bar-code image using smart phone’s camera and processing it.
The captured image is sent to a web service, which processes it and sends back a reply. Based on the reply, the Bar-code Reader shows a video associated with the product, as well as a web page with the detailed information about the product. GPS information sent to the server from the phone allows customizing this web page, pointing to the location where the product may be purchased.
Application UI is designed to support devices with and without touch screen.
